This year’s volleyball season was nothing short of amazing! Under the leadership of Mr. Shea, with the incredible support of Mr. Miller and Ms. Melissa, our school proudly fielded two competitive teams. Mrs. Ferris' Class Enjoys Literacy Snacks

Mrs. Ferris’ class combined reading and tasty treats for a memorable literacy activity! Students read the beloved story If You Give a Moose a Muffin by Laura Numeroff and then rolled up their sleeves to make their very own “moose muffins.”

After reading, students discussed the story, visualized the events, and explored new vocabulary. Then came the fun part decorating muffins! The classroom was filled with laughter and the sweet smell of muffins as students worked to design their own moose muffin.

Space Day in Ms. Morrison's Class

Ms. Morrison transformed her Grade 1 classroom into an out-of-this-world adventure! Students walked into a space-themed wonderland where their desks became rocket ships, planets hung from the ceiling, and alien decorations floated overhead. The Big Dipper constellation made a special appearance, setting the stage for an unforgettable learning experience.

To make the journey even more exciting, students earned astronaut training badges as they completed missions that integrated literacy, numeracy, ADST, and art.

Honouring Our Veterans: MCES Remembrance Day Ceremony

On November 10, our school community came together to honour and remember the veterans who made incredible sacrifices to protect our safety, rights, and freedoms. We are truly grateful to live in a country where we enjoy the gift of freedom.

Our ceremony was deeply child-centered, with students leading many parts of the program and sharing their voices in meaningful ways. It began with a powerful entrance: Indigenous student dancers and our colour guard marched into the gymnasium to the steady beat of our school drum group. This set a tone of respect and unity for the day.
