Winter Concert
The chili dinner was a hit! A huge thank you to Ms. Martha for initiating this thoughtful idea to ensure our students who live far away could enjoy a healthy meal before the big show. We’re so grateful to Ms. Dani for cooking up the delicious chili and to our district staff who came out to help serve, it truly takes a team!
The concert itself was an absolute success! Our talented MCs, Comrie and Cash, sleighed their roles and kept the evening flowing with energy and fun. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Morrison’s Grade 1 class for opening the evening with a meaningful land acknowledgment, honoring the Indigenous land we live and learn on.
To all the families who came out to support their little people, thank you! Your presence made the night extra special, and we had an awesome audience cheering everyone on.
We also want to recognize our incredible EAs for coming back to ensure every learner had an inclusive opportunity to perform. And of course, a big shout-out to our teachers for creating original, engaging performances that showcased students’ musical, dramatic, and visual arts talents.
Finally, behind the scenes, Mrs. Martindale and Mrs. Smith worked tirelessly to prepare MCs, solo performances, staging, lights, technology, and decorations. The auditorium looked beautiful thanks to their dedication and creativity.
This event was a true community effort, and we couldn’t be prouder of our students and staff. Thank you, everyone, for making this winter concert a night to remember!
From all of us at Merritt Central thank you for making this winter concert a night to remember! Wishing you and your families a joyful holiday season and a happy new year.
