Volleyball Season was a Smash
This year’s volleyball season was nothing short of amazing! Under the leadership of Mr. Shea, with the incredible support of Mr. Miller and Ms. Melissa, our school proudly fielded two competitive teams. Their hard work, dedication, and teamwork paid off as we clinched the title of District Champions for the second year in a row!
What made this achievement even more impressive was the commitment behind it. Our players practiced every day at lunch for the past three months. and even squeezed in a few after-school practices where they scrimmaged against the MSS Grade 8 girls' team. These sessions gave our athletes a chance to learn from slightly older, more experienced peers, sharpening their skills and building confidence.
After their big win Mr. Shea made sure the team had a well-deserved celebration. The party was full of fun bonding games, dancing, a little silliness, and of course pizza! It was a great way to recognize their effort and strengthen the sense of community that makes our school so special.
The season wrapped up with the annual Students vs. Staff game, where staff members stepped onto the court to laugh, compete, and connect with students in such a positive way. This event reminded us all that you don’t have to be the best athlete to enjoy being active. It’s about having fun, trying something new, and embracing the spirit of play, even if volleyball isn’t your go-to sport.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and cheered us on throughout the season. Here’s to another year of teamwork, sportsmanship, and MCE school pride!
