Douglas Lake Commonage

Mrs. Tolmie’s and Miss Matheson’s Grade 4/5 class went out on the land at Chapperon Lake for the tmxwulaxw Gathering for the Douglas Lake Commonage. They had a wonderful day outside together! Students spent the day playing games, enjoying the fresh air, and running around with each other. They also had the chance to do some fire roasting, which everyone really enjoyed.
Throughout the day, students learned about the land, explored some local language, and discovered the role of food chiefs and the importance of being out on the land. It was a meaningful experience that helped them connect with nature and each other.
Overall, it was a fun, active, and memorable day for everyone.
